Youth Abstinence and Family Values
To explore existing, or develop new: materials, programs, leadership training in order to promote abstinence among youth; and to encourage and support family values to counteract cultural and peer pressure that damages our young people. Churches or groups may ask for a brief presentation (10-12 minutes) which covers 1) why there is a need for such a team in the presbytery; 2) how the groups was formed and approved by the presbytery; and 3) the substantial progress so far in bringing this vital subject to the attention of the youth (and their parents) of our presbytery. A workshop was well received at the PYC Fall Retreat at Vanderkamp. A training for Clergy and Christian Educators, entitled "Christianity, Sex and Youth", will be held Apr. 27, 2006 for them to learn how to teach on the topic of sexual education/abstinence.
