Wanted: An inspirited individual who is passionate about working with young people and who is called to serve the Lord as a Children and Youth Ministries Coordinator.
The First United Church of East Syracuse and the Collamer United Church (both Presbyterian and Methodist) are seeking a motivated person to work with the leadership and children/youth of the two churches. The Children and Youth Ministries Coordinator (CYMC) should have an interest and desire in communicating God's word to children, and a passion for teaching and reaching out to young people. The individual should be creative and flexible and have excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities include:
· planning, leading and developing activities for children and youth
· assisting Christian Education Teachers in preparing and administering weekly lessons and incorporating music into programs when possible
· communicating information about children and youth activities to the congregation.
This is a part-time position (approximately 12 hours per week) starting July 2010.
The salary is $11,000 annually. The CYMC must be at least 23 years of age and have a combination of education and experience appropriate to fulfill the obligations of the position.
